A structural element for windows and other glazed glass components that are composed of at least two panes of glass. Between the panes there is a cavity which is sealed to be gas- and moisture-tight and that provides sound and heat insulation. The cavity is filled with a mixture of gases. (e.g. argon). The gas mixture provides a low thermal conductivity, so that windows can be used as an insulating part of a thermal insulation facade.
